There is no definitive answer to this question as there are different schools of thought when it comes to capitalization. Generally speaking, however, the title of a book should be capitalized as follows:<\/p>\n

The first word, the last word, and all major words in between should be capitalized. This includes words such as “and,” “or,” “but,” and so forth.<\/p>\n

The word “I” should always be capitalized, no matter where it appears in the title.<\/p>\n

The word “a” should only be capitalized if it is the first word of the title on the book cover<\/a>.<\/p>\n

With that in mind, all of the following titles could be considered to be capitalized correctly:<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

The Cat in the Hat<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

The Hobbit<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

To Kill a Mockingbird<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

The Hunger Games<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Of course, there are always exceptions to the rule. For instance, some style guides may recommend always capitalizing the word “the” regardless of where it appears in the title. Ultimately, it is up to the author or publisher to decide which style to follow.<\/p>\n
