Nun Guda’s book of homilies was written on a material known as Pergamon. Pergamon is a type of vellum that was popular in the medieval period. It is made from the skin of a young animal, usually a calf, and was treated with a mixture of milk and lime to make it durable. Nun Guda’s book is one of the few surviving examples of Pergamon.
